Cardiff City ‘consider’ 33-year-old midfielder currently playing in Turkey

Cardiff City are now being linked with a veteran midfielder as they look to strengthen this month. Erol Bulut has made it clear he would like reinforcements this month, but while deals are said to be ‘close’, nothing has been finalised up to this point.

In the meantime, City are being linked with aplayers aplenty, and many of them have some sort of Turkish link, with Bulut being Turkish. On that front, the latest player to be linked is 33-year-old Badou Ndiaye.

Ndiaye has been a regular for Adana Demirspor over recent years, but he has previously played for Galatasaray and Stoke City. The midfielder joined Stoke in 2018, but he only made 27 league appearances over three years, spending much of that time out on loan.

Sports Digitale say Cardiff are now interested in offering the veteran a move back to the UK. Ndiaye is under contract with his current club until the summer of 2025, while he is valued at less than £1million by Transfermarkt.

Cardiff could do with another holding midfielder having been short in the centre so far this season, much due to the absence of Aaron Ramsey, while Joe Ralls picked up an injury concern last time out. While the Bluebirds will look to land some more youthful targets this month, as Bulut has confirmed, they also need help now, and a cheap veteran signing may suit them in the immediate term as they look to make up ground on the playoffs, currently three points adrift.
