Cardiff City handed potential boost in bid to land ex-Rangers winger

Cardiff City have reportedly been handed a boost in their bid to land a former Rangers winger this month. The Bluebirds have been linked with a move for Ryan Kent this month, in need of a pacey winger.

Kent made the move to Fenerbahce in the summer after his contract with Rangers expired, but he has only featured in seven league games for the Turkish giants. A loan move could now be on the table for the 27-year-old, and it is being suggested that a Championship move is most likely.

Cardiff have been linked, likely due to having a Turkish boss in Erol Bulut, while fellow playoff hopefuls Hull City have also been linked. But according to Sports Digitale, Kent is not convinced by a temporary move to Humberside.

That could give the Bluebirds the window they need to make a move, but it may not be that straightforward. The winger may be holding out for a move to a Premier League club, or one at the very top of the Championship, and that could also rule out Cardiff.

Hull are currently two points above City, and the Bluebirds might find it just as difficult to convince Kent to join them on loan.
