Erol Bulut confirms fresh injury concern ahead of Cardiff City vs Preston

Cardiff City boss Erol Bulut has confirmed a fresh injury concern ahead of Saturday’s home clash with Preston North End. The Bluebirds picked up a much-needed win over Watford last time out, while Preston saw off Ipswich Town.

The two sides are separated by just two points in the table, and that makes this one an important clash for both teams as they look to make up ground on the playoffs. But ahead of Saturday’s fixture, Bulut has confirmed a fresh injury concern.

“Perry Ng is OK but we have a small problem with Macca (Mark McGuinness),” said Bulut in his pre-match press conference. “He has a small pain, so we will see if we can have him on Saturday with us. Until now, our centre backs we had only two, they played all the games, 90 minutes. We have been lucky we didn’t get injuries before. Now there are a lot of games and he is still young, only 22, he has played a lot of games and had a really good season. I hope it’s not something serious.”

Speaking about the absence of forward Callum Robinson, Bulut added: “He had a virus and he took really long. Now he is training already, two or three days with our physios until he comes back into the team. His history, he has had a lot of injuries. When we came here, he was just back from an injury. Then when we start the season he got injured again and for three weeks he was out.

“He came back and then he was out again. When he comes close, he has another injury. So he hasn’t adapted to be fully with us. He has to really take care about his body and manage it well.”

In better news, Bulut is hopeful of handing minutes to Aaron Ramsey, who was an unused substitute last time out, while new goalkeeper signing Ethan Horvath is available. Bulut confirmed: “His visa is fixed so he will be available for us.”
