Erol Bulut confirms fresh Cardiff City injury concerns ahead of Sunderland clash

Erol Bulut has provided the Cardiff City injury latest ahead of Friday’s clash with Sunderland at the Cardiff City Stadium. The Bluebirds are back in action on Good Friday as they return following the international break.

City suffered defeat to Swansea City before the break, leaving them eight points from the playoffs, a figure that is likely to prove too much with the time remaining. But whether the Bluebirds can put together a big finish or not, they will want to finish the season in strong fashion.

But as they prepare to welcome an out of sorts Sunderland side who have seen two of their managers sacked this season, the Bluebirds have a few injury concerns.

“Many players went for the national games which left us with a small squad, but we took some youngsters with us and had some good sessions,” Bulut said in his pre-match press conference.

“The team really worked well in the sessions, which we’re happy with. JC (Jamilu Collins) has a bit of a problem with his hamstring, so it looks like he won’t be with us on Friday. One or two of the players are a little bit tired from the travelling.

“Kion [Etete] is also training with us, but he won’t be ready to start, nor Jak [Alnwick]. We have to be careful, but I don’t think it will be long until he is back.”
