Ipswich Town boss confirms injury boost ahead of Cardiff City clash

Ipswich Town could welcome back a familiar face for their clash with Cardiff City on Saturday afternoon. The Tractor Boys are currently in possession of second place, and with Leeds United and Southampton behind, they will likely need to keep winning to keep hold of it.

Meanwhile, the Bluebirds have picked up form of late, winning their last three and going unbeaten in four games. Erol Bulut’s men may fancy themselves as a potential upset for Ipswich, who have been superb during their first season back in the second tier.

Ahead of the clash, which will be the Championship’s early game on Saturday due to TV selection, Ipswich boss Kieran McKenna has confirmed Wales international Nathan Broadhead could return from injury, facing a late fitness test.

“Nathan has stepped up his recovery this week, so he’s not too far away from involvement this weekend. We’ll have to see how he is today,” McKenna said, as quoted by the East Angian Daily Times. “Apart from the longer-term absentees we’re in a healthy spot.”

Ipswich will, however, remain without Manchester United loanee Brandon Williams, with McKenna adding:”No, no news. He’s with the Man United medical team and that’s out of our hands. Our full focus is with the players that are here.”
