Cardiff City get rare August South Wales derby as 2024/25 fixtures confirmed

Cardiff City already know their fixtures for next season with the early rounds of pre-season now getting underway. The EFL released their fixture lists on Wednesday, with all 72 teams discovering which order they will ace their opponents.

The Bluebirds will take on Sunderland at home in their season opener ahead of two away games, including a rare August South Wales derby on August 24, which will be a real treat for fans.

The second South Wales derby, this time at home, will take place on January 18, but that’s a date that could change due to television selection, as is the case for all of these fixtures. The trip to Ashton Gate to face Bristol City is on October 5, while the Severnside derby in South Wales will take place on February 15.

City will end the season away to Norwich City, but not before two homes clashes, against Oxford United and West Brom respectively.
